Manufacturing process

Stages of fiber-optic patch cord production

We have our own full-cycle production

  • Winding of optical patch cords

The process of unwinding and cutting the cable is carried out automatically on high-tech equipment.

    • The length of the cable unwinding is from 1 to 450m.
    • Cable winding accuracy: 100 m * 3%.
    • Winding speed 0,1 ~ 1,6 m/sec.

  • Cleaning before gluing

Mechanical cleaning of optical fiber - as a preparatory stage for the production of optical patch cords. At the cleaning stage, a cycle of removal operations is performed:

    • Cable armour.
    • Kevlar threads.
    • Module shell.
    • Buffer coverage.
    Cleaning before gluing
  • Gluing of fiber optic patch cord

The ends are pressed on a semi-automatic machine and the ceramic ferrules are glued with a two-component, high-quality glue made in the USA.

  • Removal of excess fiber

Drying in an oven with horizontal stacking of connectors, gives a better baking effect and quality control. We remove the remnants of fiberglass on the connector using knives on a ruby and tungsten base.

  • Polishing of fiber optic connectors

The process has five stages, from diamond polishing to 0.05 micron polishing. Types of manufactured connectors:

    • APC (Angled Physical Contact).
    • UPC (Ultra Physical Contact).

  • Testing

Patch cords are checked individually at all stages of production. Connecting products are checked for visual and technical defects, including:

    • Polishing quality.
    • Returned losses.
    • Network load.
    Testing
  • Packaging of fiber optic network components

Made-to-order or finished products are packaged in ZipLock plastic bags or stretch wrap. Each product is marked with a sticker with the date of manufacture and the technical characteristics of the patch cord.
