MT3317 Active Fiber Identifier from Multitest is a reliable assistant when working with optical cross-connections. The typical users of this device are telecommunications companies, internet service providers, large data centers, corporate networks, as well as industrial complexes and manufacturing facilities. In these areas, situations often arise where optical fibers or patch cords, whether transmitting signals or inactive, get tangled.

The MT3317 allows easy determination of the presence of an optical signal in the fiber and its direction of movement without disrupting communication or causing damage to the fiber. In cases where more precise identification of the required fiber or patch cord is needed, the device can detect modulated optical signals at frequencies of 270 Hz, 1 kHz, or 2 kHz.

The device works with various types of cables and fibers with outer jacket diameters of 0.25 mm, 0.9 mm, 2 mm, and 3 mm. The advantage of this device is the universal clamping mechanism for fixing the fiber, which significantly simplifies working with cables and does not require additional adjustments when changing equipment.
